Cutaneous Larva Migrans


Skin disease caused by nematode parasite of hookworm family Ancylostoma caninum and Ancylostoma braziliense.


Diagnostic Criteria

 

  • Creeping eruption on the skin

Investigation

 

  • No specific investigation


Pharmacological Treatment

 

  • Give thiabendazole PO 50 mg/kg 12 hourly for 2 days OR

  • Give Albendazole 200mg single dose (children below 2years), 400mg PO for older children repeat after one week

  • Plus topical 10% thiabendazole paste apply twice daily 5 days
