Kisukari aina ya 2

Kisukari aina ya pili hutokea kutokana na udhaifu unaotokea kwenye seli hai zinazochakatua sukari mwilini. Udhaifu huu huweza kusababishwa na upinzani wa homoni ya insuline kufanya kazi au kutozalishwa kwa wingi kwa homoni hii au uzalizashi wa kiwango kikubwa cha homoni ya glukagoni kisichotakiwa mwilini. Madhara ya udhaifu huo wote hupelekea mwili kushindwa kutumia sukari iliyo kwenye damu na hivyo kuongezeka kwa kiwango cha sukari kwenye damu.


Kisukari aina hii hutokea kwa watu wazima yaani watu wenye umri zaidi ya miaka 35 na kuendelea. Cha kushangaza kisukari aina ya 2 kimeanza kuongezeka kwa kasi kwa vijana wadogo kwa sababu ya kubadilika kwa mtindo wa maisha na sababu zingine zinazoelezewa hapo chini.
